[Intro]
| Em | Em | G | A |
| Em | Em | A | C A |

[Verse 1]
  Em Em
I grew up as your usual suburbanite,
       G A
a tiny town in Massachusetts, overwhelmingly white.
  Em Em
I went to church on Sundays in a suit and a tie,
G A
then spent my free time watching Family Guy.
  Em Em G
I started doing comedy when I was just a sheltered kid,
                  A
I wrote offensive shit, and I said it:
Em Em A
Father, please forgive me, for I did not realize what I did
            C A
or that I'd live to regret it.

[Pre-Chorus]
C G Em
Times are changing, and I'm getting old.
              G
Are you gonna hold me accountable?
   Em G
My bed is empty and I'm getting cold.
Em G N.C.
Isn't anybody gonna hold me accountable? Uh

[Chorus]
          Em Em
I'm problematic (He's a problem),
A A
when I was seventeen, on Halloween
                 Em Em
I dressed up as Aladdin (He's a problem),
A N.C.
I did not darken my skin, but still, it feels weird in [Solo] hindsight.

[Synth Solo]
| Em | Em | G | A |
| Em | Em | A | C A |

[Verse 2]
          Em Em
I want to show you how I'm growing as a person, but first
         G A
I feel I must address the lyrics from the previous verse.
           Em Em
I tried to hide behind my childhood, and that's not okay,
   G A
my actions are my own, I won't explain them away.
     Em Em G
I've done a lot of self-reflecting since I started singing this song,
              A
I was totally wrong when I said it:
Em Em A
Father, please forgive me, for I did not realize what I did
            C A
or that I'd live to regret it.

[Pre-Chorus]
C G Em
Times are changing and I'm getting old.
              Em
Are you gonna hold me accountable?
   C G
My bed is empty and I'm getting cold.
Em Em N.C. N.C.
Isn't anybody gonna hold me accountable? Uh

[Chorus]
          Em Em
I'm problematic (He's a problem)
A A
I just remembered that Aladdin costume's
               Em Em A C
in my mother's attic (He's a problem) I'm gonna go home and burn it
                   A N.C.
or not burn it. Is burning it bad? What should I do with it?

[Bridge]
    C G
And I've been totally awful,
             D Em G/D
my closet is chock-full of stuff that is vaguely shitty.
C G
All of it was perfectly lawful,
              D Em G/D
just not very thoughtful at all and just really shitty.
    C G
And I've been totally awful,
             D Em G/D
my closet is chock-full of stuff that is vaguely shitty.
C G
All of it was perfectly lawful,
              D N.C.
just not very thoughtful at all and just really ...

[Outro]
                       G Em
And I'm really fucking sorry,
Bm Bm
bitch, I'm trying to listen, shit, I’ve been complicit.
G Em
Sorry,
Bm Bm
if I'm gonna catch up, first, I gotta fess up.
G Em Bm Bm
Sorry,
G Em Bm Bm
sorry.

Personally in the bit with "I just remembered that Alladin costume is in my mother's attic", instead of Em-Em-Em-A, I play Em-Em-A-A, because I think it sounds better. It just feels off to me to play Em three times hahah. But amazing tabs, thank you so much!
