[Intro]

G D C
G D C

[Verse 1]

When [Em] I came home my stuff was on the [G] lawn
I thought she was [C] happy, but I was [Em] wrong
The [Em] note she left it took me by [G] surprise
Said I've turned [C] into some other [G] guy

[Pre-Chorus]

[Am] The things she says that she [Bm] gave up for me
She [C] says it was a waste of [D] time

[Chorus]

[G] Guess I [D] don't really [C] know what I was thinking
[G] Would've [D] thought we would [C] float but we kept sinking [Am] in
Things were so [D] good
But you were in [G] love with [D] some other [C] guy
He [D] looked just like [G] me but [D] I make you [C] cry
You [D] know I don't [Am] mean to
[D stop]I'm just an asshole sometimes

[Instrumental]

G D C
G D C

[Verse 2]

I [Em] never saw myself as being [G] alone
And maybe that was my [C] problem, cause now she's [Em] gone
And [Em] I can't help but think of how things could [G] be
Now I hope she's [C] happy, happy without [G] me

[Pre-Chorus]

[Am] And all the things that she [Bm] gave up for me
I [C] took for granted time after [D] time

You [D] know I don't [Am] mean to
[D] I'm just an asshole sometimes[Bm]

[Bridge]

And please don't think I'm [C] complaining
I was just [G] happy to have her for a [D] time
[Bm] And if you see her [C] tell her I said
[Am] Hello and that I'm doing just [D] fine

You [D] know I don't [Am] mean to[D]
You know I don't [Am] mean to
[D stop]I'm just an asshole sometimes [G D C D]
I'm just an asshole sometimes [G D C D]
I'm just an asshole sometimes [G D C D]
I'm just an asshole sometimes [G D C D]
Cause I'm an asshole sometimes [G]

Notes: At some points in the song, it may be easier or more convenient to play C9
(032033) in place of C (032010 or 332010). Most of Bowling for Soup's songs seem
to be in the key of B...here's an exception. Songs like 1985 and Almost are
actually great practice for barre chords.

Brilliant!

However, I prefer to play the Intro as:
G D C Am D
e|-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-|-3---3-3-2-----0-----0-----0-----0-2-|
B|-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-|-3-------3-3-0-1---0-1---0-1---0-1-3-|
G|-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-|-0-------2-----0-----2-----2-----2-2-|
D|-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-|-0-------0-----2-----2-----2-----2-0-|
A|-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-|-2-------0-----3-----0-----0-----0-0-|
E|-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-|-3-----------------------------------|
v ^ v ^ v ^ v ^ v v v v v v v

G D C Am D
e|-3---3-3-2-----0-----0-----0-----0-2-|
B|-3-------3-3-0-1---0-1---0-1---0-1-3-|
G|-0-------2-----0-----2-----2-----2-2-|
D|-0-------0-----2-----2-----2-----2-0-|
A|-2-------0-----3-----0-----0-----0-0-|
E|-3-----------------------------------|
v v v v v v v

And the chorus as the same, but without the "rakes" at the start. Nice job though.
Just thought I'd contribute :)
