I found myself going back and forth between the simplicity of the official version and the complexity of
version 2. So consider this a hybrid with easy to play chords and juicy tones. To make this as close to
'Beginner' as possible I transposed to Capo 4. Hardest chords would likely be the B7 and Bm. The chorus can
be played in so many different ways and open to interpretation so I added my own flavor to it with Am7 G B7
Capo 4
[Verse]
G
We belong together
Em
And you know that I am right
Em7 C Bm
Why do you play with my heart?
Am7 D
Why do you play with my mind?
G
Said we'd be forever
Em
Said it'd never die
Em7 C Bm
How could you love me and leave me
Am D
And never say goodbye?
[Pre Chorus]
Em
When I can't sleep at night
Em/D#
Without holding you tight
Em/D Em/C#
Girl each time I try I just break down and cry
Cmaj7
Pain in my head
Bm

[Chorus]
G
Although we've come
Am7 G B7
To the end of the road
Em7 D C
Still I can't let go
Bm

D
I belong to you
[Verse]

Em7 C Bm
You've never been there before
Am7 D
It's only your first time

Maybe I'll forgive you
Em
Maybe you'll try
Em7 C Bm
We should be happy together

Thank you so much for this. It’ s so much easier to play than either version 1 or 2. Just to let you know I play an E7 instead of the Em7 before the C in the verse. It’s sounds really full and lovely.
