CAPO 7th FRET

Intro

G D/F# C
I watch you grow away from me in photographs, and memories like spies,
                    G C G
The salt betrays my eyes again,
                                  D/F# C
I've started losing sleep and gaining weight, and wishing I was ten again
                      G C G
And I could be your friend again...

                                 D/F# C
But these days we go to waste like wine, that turns to turpentine
                           G C G
Till it's six AM and I'm all messed up,
                            D/F#
I didn't mean to waste your time
                      C
So I'll fall back in line but I'm warning you
      G C G
We're growing up

                               D/F#
I heard you found some pretty words to say,
                         C G C G
You found your little game to play and there's no one allowed in
                                    D/F# C
Then just when we believe we could be great, reality it permeates
                       G C G
And conquers from within again

                                 D/F# C
But these days we go to waste like wine, that turns to turpentine
                           G C G
Till it's six AM and I'm all messed up,
                            D/F#
I didn't mean to waste your time
                      C
So I'll fall back in line but I'm warning you
      G C G
We're growing up

 G D/F# C G C G D/F# C G C G

                                 D/F# C
But these days we go to waste like wine, that turns to turpentine
                           G C G
Till it's six AM and I'm all messed up,
                            D/F#
I didn't mean to waste your time
                      C
So I'll fall back in line but I'm warning you
      G C G

I love playing both Ver1 and Ver2 of this song and laying them over each other - sounds great. Thanks to both thebetchick and aggro_boy.

Just a couple tweaks...

The "C" after each "D/F#"
is a "C/E" and played 0 3 2 0 1 0
The open "E" is important as the bass line walks down from G to E

The "C" in the G - C - G progression
is a "C/G" and played 3 x 2 0 1 3
Like this:
3 2 0 0 0 3 - 3 x 2 0 1 3 - 3 2 0 0 0 3

Everything else looks great. Thanks.
