They didn't ever say where we were going
        F G
We just climbed into the backseat
G Am7

I guess we really didn't understand it all
C F C
Remember looking up at them in the front row
       F G
Hands touched together, almost outta sight
G Am7

Of a Sunday afternoon

G Am
That's where I learned it all, from them
   F C
To fight, to love, to laugh again
G Am F
Man, I thought we were only wasting time
F C F C F
  Out on a Sunday drive

[Verse 2]
C F C
The sun warms your soul just like an old friend
                         G
Singing songs along that ribbon of a road
                                           Am
And everyone you love is sitting there, so close
Am7 F
You're never thinking that you'd ever get old

[Verse 3]
C F C
I never said where we were going
                          G
I just helped them to the back seat
G
  Dad, just laughed and said
            Am
"Son, don't drive too far"
Am F
Your momma gets pretty tired these days
C F C F
After a few miles I guess they recognized some places
      G
And I listened as they reminisced
G Am
About a world that they had always known
Am
And how it's changing

Probably never gonna be the same again
G Am F

Nice job on this tab. Just looking at the lyrics and I think first verse, I think ‘furrow’ should be front seat. 2nd verse I think the river on the road should be something else but can’t seem to get it. Ribbon of a road? I don’t know. Great job with the tab though.
