A Dsus2
A Dsus2

[Verse]
A Dsus2
Poison oak, some boyhood bravery
       A Dsus2
When the telephone was a tin can on a string
     F#m E
And I fell asleep with you still talking to me
                       A Dsus2
You said you weren't afraid to die

A Dsus2

    A Dsus2
In polaroids you were dressed in women's clothes
        A Dsus2
Were you made ashamed, why'd you lock them in the drawer?
   F#m E
Well I don't think that I ever loved you more

[Chorus]
                A
Than when you turned away
            Dsus2
When you slammed the door
          F#m E
When you stole a car drove, towards Mexico
          A Dsus2
And you wrote bad checks just to fill your arm
       F#m E
I was young enough, I still believed in war

A Dsus2
A Dsus2

[Verse 2]
E F#m
But let the poets cry themselves to sleep
E F#m
And all their tearful words would turn back into steam

               A Dsus2
But me, I'm a single cell on a serpent's tongue
               F#m E
And there's a muddy field where a garden was
                 A
And I'm glad you got away
                Dsus2
But I'm still stuck out here
                F#m E
My clothes are soaking wet from your brother's tears

A Dsus2
A Dsus2

[Bridge]
E F#m
And I never thought this life was possible
E F#m
You're the yellow bird that I've been waiting for
              A Dsus2
The end of paralysis I was a statuette
          F#m E
Now I'm drunk as hell on a piano bench
            A Dsus2
And when I press the keys it all gets reversed
              F#m E
The sound of loneliness makes me happier

[Outro]
A Dsus2
A Dsus2
A Dsus2
A Dsus2

Good job mate, but it sounds better to me like this: A - X02220 Aadd11 - X00220 Dmaj9 - 200220 E - 022100 CHORUS: A - X02220 Aadd11 - X00220 Dmaj9 - 200220 ????? - 020220 After the "i still believed in war" part you play an A chord and pull off, hammer on and pull off on the B string 2nd fret before switching to the Dmaj9 chord. Then play the bass line on the low E string with your pinky finger

it should be 2-0-0-2-2-0 for the F#m and for "still believed in war" "from your brothers tears" and "makes me happier" the E should be 0-2-0-2-2-0
