The good thing about this version is that it is way easier to play as there aren't any bar chords. This is very beginner friendly and can get anyone to be playing in under an hour. Was this info helpful?

[Verse 1]
        C E7
There once was a bittersweet man and they called him, "Lemon Boy"
       F Dm G
He was growing in my garden and I pulled him out by his hair like a weed
     C E7
And like weeds do he only came and grew back again
      F Dm G
So, I figured this time I might as well let him be

[Chorus]
F C E7 Am G
Lemon Boy and me started to get along together
 F C E7 Am G
I helped him plant his seeds and we'd mow the lawn in bad weather
         F C E7 Am Dm
It's actually pretty easy being nice to a bitter boy like him
           G C
So I got myself a citrus friend

[Verse 2]
  C E7
But soon his bittersweet started to rub off on me
              F Dm G
You'd think smelling like lemon zest would be pretty neat
 C E7
I found out that my friends are more of the savoury type
            F Dm G
And they weren't too keen on compromising with a nice lemon pie

[Chorus]
    F C E7 Am G
So Lemon Boy and me, we just gotta get along together
 F C E7 Am G
I'll help him plant his seeds and we'll mow the lawn in bad weather
         F C E7 Am Dm
It's actually pretty easy being nice to a bitter boy like him
             G C
So, I got myself a citrus friend

[Bridge]
  C E7
But what if I run out of fertiliser
F Fm
What if the clouds run out of rain
F C

What if the beaches dry of sugarcane
Fm

      C
The whales start to beach themselves
      E7 F
The tortoise shells tear away from their spines

It happens all the time, it happens all the time

[Pre-Chorus]

Lemon Boy and I, we're gonna live forever
        F C E7 Am G
Like Snufkin and Little My, we'll get around wherever

[Chorus]
F C E7 Am G
Lemon Boy and I, we're gonna live forever

Like Snufkin and Little My, we'll get around wherever
        F C E7 Am Dm

Basically, if you want to play without a capo... [chord written] = [chord to play without capo] C = G E7 = B7 F = C Dm = Am G = D I think those are all of the chords but I might’ve missed a few. I’m planning on writing my own version with these chords too so expect that sometime.

What I found: to play without a capo, you can play the soprano ukulele fingerings of these chords on a baritone ukulele. If that doesn’t make sense, what I mean is to play without a capo, instead of playing C play G, instead of E7 play B7, instead of playing F, play C, instead of playing Dm play Am, instead of playing G play D, and instead of playing Am play Em.
