[Intro]
G G
[Verse 1]
G B7
There once was a bittersweet man and they called him, "Lemon Boy"
C Am D
He was growing in my garden and I pulled him out by his hair like a weed
G B7
And like weeds do he only came and grew back again
C Am D
So, I figured this time I might as well let him be
[Chorus]
C G B7 Em D
Lemon Boy and me started to get along together
C G B7 Em D
I'd help him plant his seeds and we mowed the lawn in bad weather
C G B7 Em D C
It's actually pretty easy being nice to a bitter boy like him
D G
So, I got myself a citrus friend
[Verse 2]
G B7
But soon his bittersweet started to rub off on me
C Am D
You'd think smelling like lemon zest would be pretty neat
G B7
I found out that my friends are more of the savory type
C Am D
And they weren't too keen on compromising with a nice lemon pie
[Chorus]
C G B7 Em D
So Lemon Boy and me, we just gotta get along together
C G B7 Em D
I'll help him plant his seeds and we'll mow the lawn in bad weather
C G B7 Em D C
It's actually pretty easy being nice to a bitter boy like him
D* G
So, I got myself a citrus friend
[Bridge]
G B7
But what if I run out of fertiliser
C Cm
What if the clouds run out of rain
C D G
What if Lemon Boy won't grow no longer
B7 C
What if beaches dry of sugarcane
Cm
O-Oh well
G
Whales start to beach themselves
B7 C
Tortoise shells tear away from their spines
Cm G
It happens all the time, it happens all the time
[Pre-Chorus]
C G B7 Em D
Lemon Boy and I, we're gonna live forever
C G B7 Em D
Like Snufkin and Little My, we'll get around wherever
[Chorus]
C G B7 Em D
Lemon Boy and I, we're gonna live forever
C G B7 Em D
Like Snufkin and Little My, we'll get around wherever
C G B7 Em D C
It's actually pretty easy being nice to a bitter boy like him
[Outro]
D C
'Cause we're the bitterest boys in town
D C
Yeah, we're the bitterest guys around
D G
And I got myself a citrus friend

Hello! I now see that I made a minor error while writing this — I will fix it as soon as I can. The strumming pattern is DDU UDU for the chorus and most of the last Am and D in the verses. Aside from this and everything named in the tab, the strumming pattern is DDU UDU UDU UDU (aka every chord whose strumming pattern isn’t destinctly mentioned in the verse and bridge)
Sorry that this is so confusing! I’ll fix it as soon as I get my hands on a computer.
+1

Also there’s a mistake in the bridge: when it says “it happens all the time” it should be an Am instead of Em

Hi! Me from the future! I would like to clarify that I made this before I realized ultimate guitar has a built-in transposing feature, so I apologize for the redundancy of this tab.
