Try Cadd9 instead of C. I think it is easier to change so example for the first part of the song it would be Am D G Cadd9 G.

yea its definitely a cadd9 ive seen chris play a couple times and thats the way he plays it live plus like Nos said it makes for a ten times easier chord change
