(D) I just found out today
The little game you play
While I been sleepin' all my life a-(A)-way
You been (D) steppin' so they say
Between midnight and day
So I'm gonna sleep with one eye (A) open from now (D) on

Chorus
*From now (G) on (from now on), all night (D) long (all night long)
*You won't have a chance
*To treat your DADDY (A) wrong
*You been (D) steppin' so they say
*Between midnight and day
So I'm gonna sleep with one eye (A) open from now (D) on

Instrumental break 1 – Follow pattern of first verse

(D) There's a honky-tonk down the road
Just about a mile or so
And I understand that's where you spend your (A) time
Baby, (D) I got news for you
Your little game is through
Yeah, from now on baby
You (A) better tow the (D) line

Repeat Chorus

Instrumental break 2 – Follow pattern of first verse

(D) You thought you were bein' wise
hangin out with other guys
And leavin' me to spend my time a-(A)-lone
Well (D) you'll find out today
It just don't work that way
You've started a little (A) game that two can (D) play

Repeat first five lines of Chorus* and end with next two lines

So you better sleep with one eye (A) open from now (D) on
Well I’m gonna sleep with one eye (A) open from now (D) on

Capo is actually on 2nd fret, or, you could play with no capo as well, with different chords (E, A, and a variation of E, 021200)
