Tuning: Standard E

[ verse 1 ]
G C
There's plenty of time left tonight
				G C
I promised I'd have you home before daylight.
G C
We do the best we can in a small town,
				 G C
act like big-city kids when the sun goes down.

         C Fmaj7
If it's not too late for coffee I'll be at your place in ten.
               Am7 Cm
We'll hit that all night diner and then we'll see.

[ post-verse ] G C

[ verse 2 ]
G C
There are so many things I have to say
				     G C
and I'll stay up all night to hear about your day.
G C
We do the best we can in a small town
                                   G C
to act like kids in love when the sun goes down.

         C Fmaj7
If it's not too late for coffee I'll be at your place in ten.
               Am7 Cm
We'll hit that all night diner and then we'll see.

[ chorus ]
G D/F# Em7 D
There's a love that transcends all that we've known of ourselves
	  C Cm
and I'll wait for it to come, I'll wait for it to come.
G D/F# Em7 D
It's got to be strong to touch my heart through it's shell
	  C Cm
and I'll wait for it to come, I'll wait for it to come.

...the timing is hard on this, just try to align the chord changes to the "lalala's"
it sounds awesome.

Honestly, this is perfect. yet, if your gonna play it on acoustic alone you should use Cmaj7 (e000230E) and Gmaj7 (e2000x3E) itll sound so much better :D
