FORTUNATE SON - Creedence Clearwater Revival
Tabbed by: Jakollee
Email: guitarjak@hotmail.com
Tuning: D (D-G-C-F-A-D) (like standard, but a whole-step down)
To play this song, John Fogerty tunes his guitar down a whole step (in standard tuning)
so he can play as if it's in the key of A, but sing it in the key of G.

I have updated the tab to show the way John Fogerty played the intro back in the '60s, with the riff all on the "G" and high "e" strings (which are tuned down a whole step to "F" and "d"). More recently, JF plays the last two parts of the riff on the "D" and "B" strings (tuned down to "C" and "A," respectively). You can find live versions on youtube, when JF had the page-boy haircut, to confirm this is how he played it. Bring it on, moronic haters. P.S. Thanks to koyla.an of Ultimate Guitar for correcting the string names on the sides of the tabs, from standard tuning to all strings tuned a whole step lower.
