Pretty sure thats a G not an E. E doesn't sound right at all, the root steps down, not up on the transition. At least to my ears it does. Just listen to the bass, it follows the root progression.

I think he meant the G in the bridge, which is actually an E. You can hear the G# in the chord, so it can't be a G there.

@ louiemac - If you listen to "Volcano (97 Demo)" in "B-Sides" album you can easily figure out the strumming.
