Cannonball - Damien Rice
------------------------
Tabbed by charredu at www.ultimate-guitar.com
Tuning: Standard

This new version is optimized for solo rhythm guitar.

Performance notes below for Intermediate and Advanced rhythm guitar players:
Beginners may substitute D/F# and Dsus2 with D, Cadd9/G with C or just
skip it.
-----------------------------
    Em7
0 2 2 0 3 0

1st string is accented during some upstrokes, strings 4 and 5 are hammered on
immediately after first down stroke

  Cadd9/G
3 3 2 0 3 0

3 3 2 0 3 3

For this chord the middle finger presses both 5th and 6th string.
4th string is hammered on immediately after first stroke. The 1st string
is accented on some upstrokes or muted. Mute by lightly touching the 1st
string with your pinky on unaccented strokes and pressed during accented
upward strokes.

     G D/F#
3 2 0 0 3 X 2 0 0 2 3 x

     G Dsus4
3 2 0 0 3 3 x x 0 2 3 3

The 3rd string of the D chords are hammered on after the first stroke.
The 1st string is accented on some upstrokes or muted as in the C chord
above.

How to Play:

I transcribed these chords by watching and listening to the video of
this really talented (and very pretty) street performer named
Chelsea Williams doing a live solo cover of Damien Rice's Cannonball.

[Intro]

Em7 Cadd9/G G D/F#
Em7 Cadd9/G G D/F#

[Verse 1]

Em7 Cadd9/G G D/F#
there's still a little bit of your taste in my mouth
Em7 Cadd9/G G D/F#
there's still a little bit of you laced with my doubt
Em7 Cadd9/G G D/F#
it's still a little hard to say
             Cadd9/G
what's going on
Em7 Cadd9/G G D/F#
there's still a little bit of your ghost your witness
Em7 Cadd9/G G D/F#
there's still a little piece of your face i haven't kissed

[Pre-Chorus]

Em7 Cadd9/G G
you step a little closer each day
   D/F# Cadd9/G
so i can't see what's going on

[Chorus]

G Cadd9/G D Dsus4
stones taught me to fly
G Cadd9/G D Dsus4
love taught me to lie
G Cadd9/G D
life taught me to die
            Em7 Cadd9/G
so it's not hard to fall
         Cadd9/G Em7
when you float like a cannonball

[Instrumental]

Cadd9/G G D/F#

[Verse 2]

Em7 Cadd9/G G D/F#
there's still a little bit of your song in my ear
Em7 Cadd9/G G D/F#
there's still a little bit of your words i long to hear

[Pre-Chorus]

Em7 Cadd9/G G
you step a little closer each day
     D/F# Cadd9/G
so close that i can't see what's going on

[Chorus]

G Cadd9/G D Dsus4
stones taught me to fly
G Cadd9/G D Dsus4
love taught me to lie
G Cadd9/G D
life taught me to die
            Em7 Cadd9/G
so it's not hard to fall
         Cadd9/G
when you float like a cannon

[Verse 3]

G Cadd9/G D Dsus4
stones taught me to fly
G Cadd9/G D Dsus4
love taught me to cry
             G
so come on courage
      Cadd9/G D
teach me to be shy
                Cadd9/G
'cause it's not hard to fall
          Cadd9/G Em7
when you float like a cannonball

[Outro]

Cadd9/G G D/F#
Em7 Cadd9/G G D/F# G

I like this tab more than the other 5* one, despite it missing half the song.

Also, I'm sure its a Dsus4 rather than a Dsus2.
