Alright so first off, dance gavin dance plays in drop d, not standard.

and second, if you listen close, you can hear that each note rings, and you cant get
when you have hammer ons. plus, this one makes sense, because your fingers are in the same
position, just moving back and forth over five frets. also, for most songs with a clean
you can hear whether the string is a thinner string or a thicker string, if you
what im talking about.

e|------------9-----------------------------|
b|---------10-------------------------------|
g|------11----------------------------------|2x
d|---12-------------------------------------|
a|--------------------9----9----------------|
D|-9---------------9----------9-------------|

e|----------4-------------------------------|
b|--------5---------------------------------|
g|------6-----------------------------------|2x
d|----7-------------------------------------|
a|--------------------4----4----------------|
D|-4---------------4----------4-------------|

on the second time playing the 4 one, instead of playing:
---4--4----|
-4------4--|
play this:
---4---7---|
-4---7-----|

"Alright so first off, dance gavin dance plays in drop d, not standard"

In their new album they play in standard and drop D. The whole album isn't in drop D.
