We Could Be Kings - Dave Hause - Devour
Standard tuning (EADGBe)
Arranged by Jack Cookson (Torn_Asunder)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dave tends to play these as powerchords, but sometimes puts in the third.
Either way, it's up to you. If you're a beginner to barre chords,
try transcribing the tab with the tool on the left to G voicings, and stick
a capo on 4th.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
               B
So this is rejection
                      G#m
And it's bringing you down
                            E
He told you that he'd find work soon
                        F#
Then he stopped coming around
                         B
That was the summer of sweet nights
                          G#m
He used to take you for rides
                            E
But it all changed in the backseat
          F#
He came inside

           G#m F# E
Well he's seen enough to know
     B G#m F# E B
Hes old enough to know whats right from wrong
   G#m F# E B F#
I know how hard it is to see things through

B E
Oh no did it rip you apart?
            G#m
To be told we could be kings
              E F#
When we were damned from the start
B E
Oh no did it rip you apart?
             G#m F#
They told us we could be kings
               E A B
When we were damned, damned from the start

                  B
You told him you loved him
                      G#m
But push had come to shove
                     E
There were no easy answers
                  F#
Mixing money and blood
                          B
He was too young to know better
                G#m
And you were unemployed
                         E
The sergeant promised a cake walk
                  F#
But then he got deployed

      G#m F# E B
I've seen enough, enough to know
     G#m F# E B
It's not about which side you're on
   G#m F# E B F#
I know how hard it is to keep it in

B E
Oh no did it rip you apart?
            G#m
To be told we could be kings
              E F#
When we were damned from the start
B E
Oh no did it rip you apart?
             G#m F#
They told us we could be kings
               E A B
When we were damned, damned from the start

F# G#m
We've been living to the left of the dial
          A E
Hoping drinks and denial will keep us here
F# G#m
I'm not promising you some bright side
                 A
Were trying to break your stride
                 E
But you asked me, you asked me

                   B
He was gone in an instant
                       G#m
They say nobody was spared
                        E
Not gonna tell you he loved you
                        F#
Not gonna tell you he cared

           G#m F# E B
Well I've seen enough, enough to know
     G#m F# E B
Sometimes with the truth you gotta let it go
   G#m F#m E B F#
I know how hard it is to keep it in

B E
I wont going rip you apart
              G#m
And tell you, you could be king
               E F#
I don't wanna break your heart
B E
I won't going rip you apart
        G#m F#
So open wide and you'll sing
                  E A
Cause were all damned
      G#m F#
Open wide and you'll see
                E A B
Cause were all damned, damned from the start

G#m F# E B

                      G# F# E B
Were damned from the start

G# F# E

end on B

I am a beginner and have no idea what you mean by G voicings
Transpose until the first chord is G?

click the down arrow on the transpose tool 4 times and the chords will appear as in the key of G, if they're easier shapes for you to play in that is! remember to put a capo on 4th if you do this, so it's in key with the recording.
