Fansong by Dethklok
C standard, of course
Disclaimer 1 - I refer to all note names as though I am in E standard
because I refuse to re-learn my fretboard in C...
Disclaimer 2 - Most of the Dethklok stuff is multi-tracked to /death/
which means that in some spots it ends up being more of an arrangement,
or more accurately, a reduction of the original. All I've tried to do
is notate possible voicings of chords that accurately reflect the
harmony w/o producing any wrong notes.
Disclaimer 3 - I only notate rhythm when I feel like it.
Q = quarter note, e = eighth note, s = sixteenth.
Intro
C |------0--------0----|
G |------0--------0----|
Eb|--4-4---4--3-3---3--|
Bb|--2--------2--------|
F |--------------------|
C |--------------------|
Or if you don't like that open B rubbing against that Bb,
(I frankly can't tell if it's in there or not...) just do:
C |--------------------|
G |--------------------|
Eb|------9--------9----|
Bb|--9-9-9-9--8-8-8-8--|
F |--7--------7--------|
C |--------------------|
Riff 1:
This probably isn't /exactly/ right but the thirds sound a lot
more authentic than power chords to my ear...
C |--------------------------|------------------------------|
G |--------------------------|------------------------------|
Eb|--------------------------|------------------------------|
Bb|------9-----9-------------|-----7-----7-----7-----4------|
F |------7-----7-----7-----7-|-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-6-6-6------|
C |--0-0---0-0---8-8-8-8-8-8-|------------------------------|

Riff 2
Several different ways to do this one; basically just droning an
E against another voice that changes from B, C, C#, C - then B, C,
C#, D#. I was arranging for two guitars and this is what I ended
up with.
(option 1) obviously palm mute the 0's
C |-------------------------------|-------------------------------|
G |-------------------------------|-------------------------------|
Eb|-------------------------------|-------------------------------|
Bb|-------2-------2------2------2-|-------2------2------2------9--|
F |-------2-------3------4------3-|-------2------3------4------6--|
C |--0000----0000---0000---0000---|--0000---0000---0000---0000----|
(option 2)
C |-------------------------------|-------------------------------|
G |-------------------------------|-------------------------------|
Eb|-------------------------------|----------------------------8--|
Bb|-------9-------10-----11-----10|-------9------10-----11-----9--|
F |-------7-------7------7------7-|-------7------7------7---------|
C |--0000----0000---0000---0000---|--0000---0000---0000---0000----|
Bridge
Same idea here. If playing all 3 voices is a pain in the ass for you,
just ignore the top one, or split the work between 2 guitars...
C |---------------------------------|---------------------------------|
G |---------------------------------|---------------------------------|
Eb|-------12-------12-----11-----11-|-----10-----10-----5------7------|
Bb|-------12-------12-----12-----12-|-----12-----12-----5------7------| x2
F |-10-10-10-10-10-10-9-9-9--9-9-9--|-8-8-8--8-8-8--3-3-3--5-5-5------|
C |---------------------------------|---------------------------------|

C |---|-------------------------------|--------------------------------|
G |---|-------------------------------|--------------------------------|
Eb|---|-------------------------------|--------------------------------|
Bb|--0|5p0-4p0-5p0-4p0-8p0-7p0-8p0-7p0|5p0-4p0-5p0-4p0-8p0-7p0-8p0-7p0-|
F |---|-------------------------------|--------------------------------|
C |---|-------------------------------|--------------------------------|
Repeat a few times. Sounds like the other guitar is just flailing on a D chord.
Solo (/should/ be dead on - I slowed it down and split the channels)
It's a cannon, which means the 2nd guitar is playing exactly what the
1st one plays only a couple of bars afterward.
1st voice enters on the "&" of 1. Second voice enters exactly 8 beats
later (exactly 1 bar in my notation) right here

That's about it... the end isn't exactly rocket science.
I'll post more if people out there actually want to learn this stuff.
Next on the docket is Hatredcopter. I've transcribed a ton of shit over
the years but never actually posted a tab to the net before, so if my
formatting or notation or whatever is lacking, let me know.

to thelonesoldier:
thanks, and I most definitely play it that way - there's no real advantage but no disadvantage either - honestly, when it comes to fingering, I just assume people are capable of reworking the fingerings if mine are uncomfortable.
Cheers,

Other than that, it seems like a very good tab. One of my friends is obsessed with Dethklok and he always says Old Rasputin's tabs are the best.

Lots of spots in the solo where the tab isn't optimized well... do you actually play it that way?

should obviously move the 13 to 8 on the high string.
