 *  = Palm mute (rest the palm of your picking hand on the strings)
 ~  = Hold the note(s) and let them ring out
 x  = Choke the note(s) (deaden by releasing pressure off the string)
(7) = Natural harmonic (hold finger lightly against the string over the fret)
 \  = Slide down (keep pressure on the string and slide up the neck)
 /  = Slide up (keep pressure on the string and slide down the neck)
 h  = Hammer on (hold the first note and hammer onto the second with another finger)
