I put on my clothes like a body guard

I put the dogs on patrol in my own back yard

I don't wanna fight but I'm constantly ready

And I don't rock the boat, but it's always unsteady

There are eggshells on the floor

Therefore I never touch the ground

It's like that old black hole,

No matter how you try,
You set out each day
Never to arrive

I got my eyes on the prize

But it looks just like a mystery
Am C
And it all goes by on the lonesome trail to victory
Em G
I'm drawing in the blinds, I got my own four walls
Am C
And the show really starts once the curtain falls
C
Take this thorn from my side
Bm
Fix this chip on my shoulder
Am
Time is racing with the clock
D
And I ain't getting any older
[Chorus]

It's like that old black hole,
D
No matter how you try.
C
It's like that old black hole,

No matter how you try.
C
It's like that old black hole,
D
No matter how you try,
You set out each day
Never to arrive
[Verse]
(Dabble around with G or somthing)
I put on my finest thread, and I wrap up my body tight
With the sun in my eyes, I step into the night
Like the mystery in the dark, Oh, it's just another kind of light
G
I don't expect you to believe me
C D G
But everything is alright
G
I don't make rules for a living
I don't do tricks for a dime
C
I was born on a good day,
G
Deaf, dumb and blind.
D
Who am I to tell the truth?
Am
I don't even know what it is.
G
I don't know how to say it
C D G
But I know that I can show you
G
I don't know how to say it
C D G
But I know that I can show you
G
I tie my boots up tight
And I head straight for bed
C
There's a pistol and a crystal
Underneath my pillow
G
There's a tender heart
Inside that ugly armadillo
C
"These are tears of joy,"
D
Cried the weeping willow
G
There's a spirit in the air
C
And there ain't no way around it
D
I was not prepared to lose it
C
On the moment that I found it
[Chorus]
C
It's like that old black hole,
D
No matter how you try.
C
It's like that old black hole,
D
No matter how you try.
C
It's like that old black hole,
D
No matter how you try.
You set out each day
Never to arrive

If you transpose down 5 half steps you can play it without the capo easily. I can sing along to it just fine :)

I dunno...this is a complete guess, but where you say, "mess around with G" doesn't C come right around "eyes"...then Am, D to finish off the end properly? I guess that's the keyboard, but it seems to work if you're playing alone like me.
Also...at "there's a spirit in the air". For that verse, shouldn't it reapeat C Bm Am D from earlier in the song? I'm a total rookie, guys and hey, thank you for working this out, theunqualified. These guys are great!

The formatting is off, he did not even attempt the I put on my finest thread section, and some of the other chords are out of order. Version 3 tab is much closer.
