EW used a Matamp Roadster to record Let Us Prey album, my best attempt of getting a similar tone was with Bias FX-2 'Insane Roadie', which I recommend using a SF-300 or the original Boss FZ-2 in the boost mode. In the amp, remember to lower presence, gain up all way, play it loudly so it will generate feedback like in the album. When muting the strings, don't mute it too hard, just enough to muffle it but don't completely mute the strings. Jus probably used a wah and tons of reverb and delay to record the layered guitars, do what thou wilt. For the Bagshaw tone, I recommend a Big Muff (max distortion, mid/high tone, up to your preferences) in a mid/bass centered Ampeg SVT.Was this info helpful?

Damn! I've been trying to get that tone also. I have both electro harmonix and sf-300. While it comes to play 'A Chosen Few...', I turn SF off. The sounding is much more similar without any added fuzz. Im sure Jus used just matamp in the recording. That very specific muffling in "Priestess of mars" may be from some old british amp. It sounds completely forcefully!
