Verse 1
            F C
It was the summer before the real world started and
Am7 G
The deal was we would get to go
     F C Am7 G
If we cleaned it up and got it running, Daddy's old Winnebago
F C Am7 G
Wing and a prayer down the 65, five best friends on four bald tires
      Fsus2 C Fsus2
I can still see Billy smiling when we finally made it

Chorus
         F C Am7 G
To Talladega, boys raise the whiskey in your glass
           F C Am7 G
Here's to turning up, slowing down and cars that go real fast
          F C
We were laughing and living, drinking and wishing
     Am7 G Fsus2
And thinking as that checkered flag was waving
                     G F
Sure would like to stay in Talladega

Interlude    (F)   C    |Am7   G    ||

Verse 2
F C Am7 G
Like a stone, time rolls on; you can't hit pause that’s just the deal
 F C Am7 G
Most days in life don't stand out but life's about those days that will
    F C Am7 G
Like Rockin Randall, getting rowdy, shooting roman candles
        F C G
At the man in the moon ‘til the Alabama sun was breaking.

Chorus
           F C Am7 G
Over Talladega, boys raise the whiskey in your glass

We were laughing and living, drinking and wishing
     Am7 G Fsus2

Like those cars, my thoughts roll over and over and over in my mind

To those of you that have chosen to vote down the rating on this transcription without providing a reason or correction: Shame on you. By doing so, you are preventing numerous people from even looking at this one. I don't blame them. Why would anyone consider a 4 star tab instead of a 5 star? And yet, I defy you to find a flaw in this one. Look at the formatting, the chords over the syllable or between the syllables of the change, the melodic hook that is easily played within the F, C, Am7 and G chords of the intro. Even the details of labelling sections and providing the correct lyrics. Provide a reason and do it right here in the comments PUBLICALLY so I can either refute your opinion or fix my mistakes. Otherwise you are a coward and I'll shame you publically. Go ahead and rate it as bloody low as you want but give me and those that might benefit from this contribution a good reason. End rant

Thanks ayreon77. Take a star off for 1st fret capo version, fine, but this version has correct lyrics, tab guide for the hook and better formatting. One star rating just makes me see red

.. and now this low rater's comments are deleted? ! Why? To anyone reading these comments ayreon77 was referring to the user who rated this contribution one star with no real cOrrection. His comment wasn't aimed at maguri who is one of our top contributors on UG. Thank you to both gentlemen.
