this is much more better for me..

Try watching his video.. the F#m7 is played on only the A and G string.. all others open.. same with an inversion of the G6.. it's a 7th with open strings.. It's easy to slide from the E to F#m to G7 and sounds more correct. Kind of the same thing happening when hitting the A section. Some chords should be 7ths..
