I'm using guitar (7s). Right riff Thanks, but it sounds deeper and warmer. Maybe detune to Eb move to Eb and use the meat of your thumb and index

That would probably be your best bet if you're trying to recreate the sound of the upright bass on the 7 string. Just tune to Eb and start on the 6th string instead of the 5th string, 6th fret like in this tab.
