Tab and chords of Clapton's Unplugged version of "My Father's Eyes"
Quite rare of a song, you may find it on youtube if the record companies don't remove it.

C#m A F#7 B C#m (x3)

C#m F# D (D A E F# B)

B C#m F# B
Sailing down behind the sun,
A E F# B
Waiting for my prince to come.
B C#m F# G#m
Praying for the healing rain
C#m D A E
To restore my soul again.

C#m A F# B
Just a toerag on the run.
E A
How did I get here?
F# B
What have I done?
C#m A F# B
When will all my hopes arise?
E A
How will I know him?
F# B C#m
When I look in my father's eyes.

C#m A F#7 B C#m (x3)

C#m F# D (D A E F# B)

B C#m F# B
Then the light begins to shine
A E F# B
And I hear those ancient lullabies.
B C#m F# G#m
And as I watch this seedling grow,
C#m D A E
Feel my heart start to overflow.

C#m A F# B
Where do I find the words to say?
E A
How do I teach him?
F# B
What do we play?

C#m A F# B
Bit by bit, I've realized
E A
That's when I need them,
F# B C#m
That's when I need my father's eyes.

C#m A F#7 B C#m (x3)

C#m F# D

[Bridge]

E A D (x3)

E A D A Are you really so far away... (Repeat)
D A A E

(D A E F# B)

B C#m F# B
Then the jagged edge appears
A E F# B
Through the distant clouds of tears.
B C#m F# G#m
I'm like a bridge that was washed away;
C#m D A E
My foundations were made of clay.

C#m A F# B
As my soul slides down to die.
E A
How could I lose him?
F# B
What did I try?

C#m A F# B
Bit by bit, I recognized
E A
That he was here with me;
F# B C#m
I looked into my father's eyes.

C#m A F# B
As my soul slides down to die.
E A
How could I lose him?
F# B
What did I try?

C#m A F# B
Bit by bit, I recognized
E A
That he was here with me;
F# B C#m
I looked into my father's eyes.

[Outro]
C#m A F#7 B C#m
C#m A F#7 B C#m
C#m F# D (D A E F# B)

Not sure if the votes were corresponding to another version of the song or not, but these chords are pretty spot on. Much better than rating gives credit for.

Lack of accuracy. This tab isn't accurate. The E chord doesn't sound like it is in the correct place. Though for the most part, it's OK.
