Family of the Year - St. Croix (2012)
Transcribed 28/7-2012 by Jon Malmin (jogusmal@hotmail.com)
Tuning: Standard E

The chords are the same throughout the song. Look at the bottom of the tab to see
some suggestions on how to play the chords!

Intro: G6 Aadd9 Dmaj9 G6 (x2)

G6 Aadd9
A boy from Florida,
Dmaj9 G6
Took a trip to the Caribbeans
G6 Aadd9
Umbrella in his daiquiri
Dmaj9 G6
Sipping, listening to Bob Marley

Guitar melody backing:
G6 Aadd9 Dmaj9 G6 (x2)

He came to get away
He came to get over it
Sunglasses and his radio,
Chilling, and a head swaying to-and-fro
Whoa!
Soul Rebel in stereo

You bring the ocean, I'll bring emotion
Together we'll make a love potion
You bring the ocean, I'll bring the motion
Dancing all night in slow motion

[Guitar melody]

He came to get away,
He came to get over her
Laptop and his cell phone,
Floating in the ocean 'til he's all alone
Whoa!
Soul Rebel in stereo

[Chorus]

[Guitar melody]

G A
Don't you worry, boy
Dmaj7 G
Take your time, don't hurry
G A
Don't you worry, boy
Dmaj7 A
Take your time, don't hurry

[Chorus x2]

[Guitar melody]

G6 Aadd9 Dmaj9 G6 (x2)

G6/D F#7/C# Fmaj7/C E

***********************************************************************************

These are the chords I use to play this song:
G6: Aadd9: Dmaj9: F#7/C#: Fmaj7/C:
3-5-5-4-0-0 5-7-7-6-0-0 x-5-4-6-5-0 x-4-4-3-2-0 x-3-3-2-1-0
E: G6/D:
0-2-2-1-0-0 x-5-5-4-3-0

However, there is an easier way to play the main chords if you find these difficult:
G6: A (not add9): Dmaj9 (no3):
3-x-0-0-3-0 x-0-2-2-2-0 x-x-0-2-2-0
