G open G/C G open
When I heard the ladiesman was dead
                                             G/Em G open
I saw the rolling stone stopped moving
                                           G/C G open
Saw my ancient hero on the Sunset Strip
                                      G/Em G open
He left behind a legacy of ruin
                                        G/C G open
Now painted ladies want to hold my gun
                                                     G/Em G open
Wonder if the whole time if I'd been acting
                                                 G/C G open
When I sang "Moon River" in that silent film
                                                                G/Em G open
Had I really made a sound when they called action

C Em7 G open G open/F# Em7
I swear that man was womankind's first husband
C Em7 G open G open/F# Em7
They all died in a line to save him
         C Em7
I'm a steady hand, I'm a Dodger's fan
         C Em7
I'm a leaning brand of a one night stand
         Cmaj7 G open
I'm a ladies----man

C G open
Oh some ladiesman
C G open
Oh some ladiesman

G open G/C G open
Couldn't see his used up body at the funeral
                                                    G/Em G open
By virtue of the flailing of his conquests
G open G/C G open
They tied down his casket with the garter belt
                                                    G/Em G open
Each troubled heart was beating in a sequin dress
G open G/C G open
Someone must console these lonesome daughters
                                                    G/Em G open
No written word or ballad will appease them
G open G/C G open
Cowboy and the cop shot down the ladiesman
                                                    G/Em G open
The humid nights in LA are now silence

C Em7 G open G open/F# Em7
I swear that man was womankind's first husband

C G open (3x)
Only son of the ladiesman
Only son of the ladiesman
Only son of the ladiesman

This definitely isn't the album version, which is basically F-Bb in the verse, and Bb Dm F in the chorus. This sounds completely wrong.

I saw the lettermen show and several pre-tour club sessions of him on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sZIwhx5ntM

the chord-changes are on the last two syllables. so try it again...

He probably got the chords from him playing solo live where he seems to always be down a whole step so the chords would be right for that.
