Tuning: EADGBe

This is what i think it sounds like, though i'm not 100%. Intro is good though. Probably
of my favourites off "Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace"

[Intro/Riff 1]
                           Let ring
e|---------------------------0-|
B|---------------------------3-|
G|---------------------------2-| x2
D|--------------0--------0---0-|
A|--------0--3-----3--0--------|
E|-3--3------------------------|

Riff 2

e|-----------------------2-----|
B|-----------------------3-----|
G|-----------------------2-----|
D|--------------0--------0-----|
A|--------0--3-----3--0--------|
E|-3--3------------------------|

Riff 1 and 2 are almost the same, but riff one goes back to the verse, where as Riff 2
into the chorus and is D Major.

[Verse]

Dsus2
Early morning without warning, woke me with a scare
                   C G
i had that dream aga-A-A-A-ain
Riff 1
that the sun was dead.
Dsus2
Make me warm or take me home, its so cold in here
                   C G
cant we meet somewhe-E-E-E-re
Riff 1
is it winter there
Riff 1
is it winter there
Riff 2
this winter

[Chorus]

D Am
Meet me in the summer time
C G
We can move the air
D Am
Sweet Virginia countryside
C G/Riff2
I will meet you then
D Am
Blood red lips and cherry wine
C G
Moonshine in your hair
D Am
Just keep staring at the sun
C G/Riff1
Pray for Summer's end

[Verse 2]

Dsus2
Come on over break my storm Oceans overhead
                  C G
Come inside my frie-E-E-E-end
Riff 1
In the night out there
Dsus2
Every moment we have stolen All we had to share
                  C G
No one wanted tha-A-A-A-t
Riff 1
but you know I did
Riff 1
you know I did
Riff 2
this moment

Then Chorus x 1
Then Solo:

Dsus2 C G F D F D
C G Riff 2

Then Chorus x 1

Then Dave sings "meet me in the summer time" and at the end of that play Riff 2, twice.

Then Chorus x 1 and finish on Dsus2

Listen for the timing and such. Its only the chord changes rather than the exact guitar parts.

   Dsus2 C G Am F D
e|--0------0----3-----0----1----3--------------------------------------------|
B|--3------1----0-----1----1----2--------------------------------------------|

D|--0------2----0-----2----3----0--------------------------------------------|

The chords are right on "dude". If you want to drop the low string to D, go ahead, but the song sounds and plays like it's in standard E- i.e. you don't get the same out of the Am, C, G riff during the chorus if you're in "drop D". The drop D would only benefit during the Dsus7 parts anyway. All that's missing from this tab is the picking runs DG does during the Dsus7 parts. Good job "dude" you nailed this soon to be hit. Proof that every "alternative pop song" is not in "drop D".
