I'm so tired of the rain falling softly on the ground,

just enough to get my feet wet but not enough to let me drown.
Am7 A7sus4 Cmaj7 Cadd9
I've been laying in my bed wishing I had never woken,
G G* G D Dsus4 D
begging God to rid my head of every word you've ever spoken.
Am7 A7sus4 Cmaj7 Cadd9
Broke my knuckles on the wall because I thought about the call
G G* G
where you said you'd always love me,
D Dsus4 D
do you not tell the truth at all?
Am7 A7sus4 Cmaj7 Cadd9
Well if I ever cross your mind make sure you write down the times,
G G* G D Dsus4

Now I lay here waiting with the hope that I might find some sleep.

I need some sleep tonight.

'Cause I've been waiting on your call but I know it will never come but

I'm still waiting by the phone.

And don't you dare, don't you dare, say you ever loved me
D Dsus4
or even tell me that you cared

cause you knew what you were doing and you know just what you've done.
G D Dsus4
How dare you say you miss me with your spit still on his tongue?

I am broken, I am beaten, I'm mistreated and I'm torn,
G D Dsus4
I am cold with no direction but I'm lost without your warmth.

I'm trying hard to find some hope that I might get the chance to breathe.

Get off my mind, give back my heart and get the fuck away from me!

you were always my princess, and now he's sliding up your dress.

Johnny Cash said love would burn, I never thought it hurt this bad.

The chord pattern used throughout seems to go more like:
Am7 Am7sus4 Am7
Cmaj7 Cadd9 Cmaj7
G
D Dsus4 D
Basically the first two lines go back to the first chord after playing the second. I've also found that the G line works better if you start by playing a normal G (with the b string open) before going to your G and then the original so the pattern of 1st, 2nd, 1st stays constant throughout, though it's not majorly noticeable.

There really isn't a set strumming pattern, you have to make up one that goesbalong with the likeness of the melody in the song.

Pret is right, but only when he's not singing. In the verse where that pattern is used, there's no switching back to the "1st". And Blainer, I'm pretty sure that's right.
