ALWAYS NEAR YOU/NOWHERE TO HIDE (from the KISS CD "GENE SIMMONS")
--------------------

Transcribed by Emil Ortenmark, emil@kissasylum.com

Standard tuning

Comments: I like these chords, specially when the "harmony" part comes in
by the second verse. There is also some very good solo guitar work here
(although the last G natural against the E major chord in Riff 3 is a little
annoying even with the gradual bend to the A). The high A's that fade in
(both bent and straight) give a slightly eerie feel to the track. And you
got to love Gene's castrato vocals during the jamming outro.

[Rhy. Fig 1 w/ Riff 1]

[Rhy. Fig 1 w/ Riff 1] (2x)
I've just begun since you've gone, to understand I'm the only one
[Rhy. Fig 1]
And if you cross yourself at night
[Rhy. Fig 3a w/ End 1 and Riff 2]
I'll come and see you, don't run and hide
I'm always near you, I'm always near you, near you

[Rhy. Fig 1 w/ Rhy. Fig 2] (3x)
And if you turn out the light (turn out the light)
Don't think you'll hide behind the night (behind the night)
And if you touch me, I might

[Rhy. Fig 3a w/ End 1, Rhy. Fig 3b w/ End 1, Rhy. Fig 3c w/ End 1 and Riff 3]
Might turn and see you, don't run and hide
I'm always near you, I'm always near you, near you

[Rhy. Fig 1 w/ Rhy. Fig 2] (3x)
I've just begun since you've gone (since you've been gone)
To understand I'm the only one (the only one)
And if you cross yourself at night

[Rhy. Fig 3a w/ Rhy. Fig 3b]
I'll come and see you, don't run and hide
I'm always near you, I'm always near you

[Rhy. Fig 4a w/ Rhy. Fig 5] (2x)
Near you
[Rhy. Fig 4b w/ Rhy. Fig 5] (21x)
Don't run and hide, you'll be the only one
I said don't try to hide for me and everyone
Don't try to hide, you'll be the only one

Everyone, oh everyone, oh everyone
Everyone, oh everyone, aha, oh everyone
