(1990)

Great song and so easy to play
You need only a good tuned acoustic guitar (forget the cello)
It has only 4 chords A# C D G but it's important on which fret you
play them
[Intro]
A# C D play two times
[Verse 1]
D
If you've got something to say
G
Why don't you say it
D
If you've got something to give
G
Why don't you give it to me
D G
Day after day I have to say it
D
We're moving further from heaven
G C
And closer to the deep blue sea
[Chorus]
C D
'Cause I have no secrets from you
C D
And I have nothing left to hide
C D
And I'm open to all your questions
C D
Why can't you reach inside
C G D
Like I have
C G D
Like I have
For you
D G D G
[Verse 2]
(same chords as verse 1)
And all these games that you play
Don't tell me how a man should be
Some would say if you knew
You wouldn't be here with me
I love you
I still love you
But I guess it's time to let you be
[Chorus]
(same chords as the previous chorus)
'Cause I have no secrets from you
And I have nothing left to hide
And I'm so tired of all these questions
'Cause maybe you just changed your mind
Like I have
Like I have
Like I have
Like I have
[Bridge]
C D
When I was at your doorsteps
C
You told me to look around
Said come in
C G D
You and your heart sit down
C D
But you better watch your step
C
'Cause you're not far from the ground
C G D
And one fine day this all falls down
[Solo]
(played by cello)
play these chords two times
A# C D after second ^ÄD" stop the guitar!!!
[Verse 3]
(same chords as verse 1 and 2)
If you've got something to say
Why don't you say it
If you've got something to give
Why don't you give it to me
Day after day I have to say it
If we've got something to save
Why don't we save it ??!!
End on D

The chords in the verses are spot on but i have no idea what the intro and the solo is about! how do you play an A# at the sixth fret?,do you mean a bar chord? no matter, a much easier intro to play is to simply form a D chord at the fifth fret (its actually called a Dm7/A) then slide it up to the seventh then up to the ninth, you can also play this in the solo.
