Wichita Lineman chords
Glen Campbell 1968 (Jim Webb) *
Version by aquamac 19 May 2011
Soz but other versions weren’t quite working for me

[Intro]
FMaj7/C Gm7/C FMaj7/A Gm7/C

[Intro]
                       BbM7 F/A
I am a lineman for the county,
                Gm7/C
and I drive the main road;
Dm7 Am7 G D
searchin' in the sun for another overload
D C9 C/E
I hear you singin' in the wire,
                           G/B
I can hear you through the whine
Gm/D D/A A Bb C Bb Gm7/C
And the Wichita Lineman, is still on the line

[Hook]
                       BbM7 F/A
I know I need a small vacation,
                       Gm7/C
but it don't look like rain
Dm7 Am7
And if it snows that stretch down south
      G D
won't ever stand the strain
D C9 C/E
And I need you more than want you,
                       G/B
and I want you for all time
Gm/D D/A A Bb C Bb Gm7/C
And the Wichita Lineman, is still on the line

[Instrumental verse]
BbM7 F/A Gm7/C Dm7 Am7 G D

[Bridge]
D C9 C/E
And I need you more than want you,
                       G/B
and I want you for all time
Gm/D D/A A Bb C Bb C (to fade)
And the Wichita Lineman, is still on the line

Instead of Bbm7 ... you might try Bbmaj7 ...It gives a nicer sound and I think more accurate. But you're right, you got closest. You need just a couple more tweaks. Nice job.

Bbmaj7 Looks like that is what he has in there, you're BOTH right.
And that chord (which you won't find in the other versions, makes ALL the difference.

Bflat Major 7 Guitar Chord

Alternative Names: Bb Major 7, Bbma7, BbM7, A# Major 7, A#ma7, A#M7

Nice job and thank you.
