[Verse 1]
And even though the moment passed me by,
I still can't turn away.
I saw the dreams you never thought you'd lose,
Tossed along the way.
Letters that you never meant to send,
Lost and thrown away.
[Verse 2]
Scars are souveneers you never lose,
The past is never far.
Did you lose yourself somewhere out there?
Did you get to be a star?
Don't it make you sad to know that life,
Is more than who we are.
[Chorus]
Now we're grown up orphans, that never knew their names

[Chorus 1]
Now we're grown up orphans, that never knew their names.
We don't belong to no one, that's a shame.
You could hide beside me, maybe for a while.
And I won't tell no one your name, no I won't tell 'em your name.
[Chorus 2]
You grew up way too fast, and now there's nothing to believe.
And re-runs all become our history.
A tired song keeps playing on a tired radio.
And I won't tell no one your name, no I won't tell 'em your name.

Here is Name by the Goo Goo Dolls, if you don't want to re-tune your
guitar. If you really must play it this way, do, otherwise retune.

(Have one guitar or bass play the chords (or roots), another guitar
pedals a high e (try 5th fret on the B string), while the other plays the

Haven't had time to work on the 2nd guitar part but this is a
much better rendition of the main rythm parts.
Enjoy!

this intro goes with the chords of the previous standard tuning tab. it
sounds great doing this intro and std. chords on one guitar and also playing
the chords of the alternative tuning tab with a second guitar.

the tunning should be: D-A-E-A-E-E

...no way am i tuning B to E thats.... like asking to break a string.

The tuning that Johnny uses is D-A-E-A-E-E. If you watch some of his videos, you can tell that he has the B string tuned to E to get that extra sound. You can also tell when he plays his solo on the high notes he is barring the two high E tuned strings, again to get a bigger sound.
As far as tuning techniques, you're better off using LIGHTER gauge strings, such as extra light (.010 or .011). They'll stretch easier and are less likely to break. I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but trust me on this one. I can't count the number of heavy gauge G strings I've broken trying to do this.
You shouldn't have any trouble with the three low strings. The D can be tuned to E without too much drama. The G string is where you will have the most trouble. Do it slowly and use new strings if you can. Finally, if you want to sound exactly like Johnny, you'll have to use two E strings since there is absolutely no way to tune a B string all the way up to E. The only problem with this is that now you can't tune your guitar back to standard tuning without changing back to a B string on the second string. The alternative is to tune the B down to an A, but it won't be exactly like Johnny does it. However, the advantage of tuning the B to A is that you will be able to re-tune your guitar back to standard without too much hassle.
Hope this helps. Would appreciate your feedback.
