INTRO: F Gm7 F Gm7

#1.
F
Upon the bitter green she walked,
    C
the hills above the town,
       Am Gm7
Echo'd to her footsteps as soft as Eider down.
Am Gm7
Waiting for her master to kiss away her tears,
                    C
Waiting through the years.

CHORUS:
       F
Bitter Green they called her,
Bb C
Walking in the sun,
Bb C F
Loving everyone that she met.
                  F
Bitter Green they called her,
Bb C
Waiting in the sun,
Bb C F
Waiting for someone to take her home.

#2.
F C
Some say he was a sailor who sailed upon the sea.
     Am Gm7
Some say he was a prisoner who never was set free.
Am Gm7
Lost upon the ocean he died there in the mist,
Bb Gm7 C
Dreaming of her kiss.

CHORUS:
       F
Bitter Green they called her,
Bb C
Walking in the sun,
Bb C F
Loving everyone that she met.
                  F
Bitter Green they called her,
Bb C
Watching in the sun,
Bb C F
Waiting for someone to take her home.

#3.
F C
But now the bitter green is gone, the hills have

turned to rust.
      Am Gm7
There comes a weary stranger, his tears fall in the dust.
Am Gm7
Waiting by the churchyard in the autumn mist,
Bb Gm7 C
Dreaming of her kiss.

CHORUS:
       F
Bitter Green they called her,
Bb C
Walking in the sun,
Bb C F
Loving everyone that she met.
                  F
Bitter Green they called her,
Bb C
Watching in the sun,
Bb C F
Waiting for someone...to take her home.

try song in D. Only one bar chord and you can do chorus like D, then next chord is Dflat as root (chord shape is from big string : F# Dflat don't play D, A D E; sounds awsome. use thumb for F# or leave it out.)

if you keep the song in F.....in Chorus do F, then F with open E as root or pick the note (E) then on to Bflat, C, F:
