intro: D

D
all the lights have changed,
D
coming back into the city,
G D
driving homeward slow.

D
shimmer like you do to me
   D
we laugh at all those changing trees,
G D
autumn is fallin down again
            G D
out of this blue sunday dream.

D
come to me with your smoky mouth,
D
raindrops fall on this old town,
    G D
its been me and you who’ve been fallin round.

       G D
well i lyed to you when i knocked upon your door
    G D
see i was nowhere near your neighborhood.

               E
but if this is all in our minds,
    G D A
its all in our minds honey would you mind getting out of mine
           E
if this is all in our heads,
     G
well now its screaming red,
             D F#
watching the leaves fall down and laugh at us instead
G Bm G D
mmmm-mm-mmmmm

You can also hammer on/off the e string during the D chord to get that little variation he does at the beginning of each verse.

Can anyone describe the strumming? I see people in videos take their finger off and on of the G string but I am still missing something. Are some of the strings skipped on the way up?
