G|------------|
D|------------|
A|------------|
E|------------|

[Verse 1]

G D
She sits alone by a lamppost
C G
Trying to find a thought that's escaped her mind
G D
She says "Dad's the one I love the most,
C G
But Stipe's not far behind!"

[Verse 2]

G D
She never lets me in - only tells me where she's been
C G
When she's had too much to drink
G D
I say that I don't care, I just run my hands through her dark hair, then I
C G
Pray to God, "You gotta help me fly away", (and just)

[Chorus]

        C G
Let her cry if the tears fall down like rain
        C Em G D
Let her sing if it eases all her pain
        C G
Let her go, let her walk right out on me
           D
And if the sun comes up tomorrow,
        C G
Let her be, let her be

[Solo]

G D C G

[Verse 3]

G D
This morning I woke up alone, found a note standing by the phone
C G
Saying "Baby, maybe I'll be back someday."
G D
I wanted to look for you; you walked in, I didn't know just what I should do, so I
C G
Sat back down, had a beer and felt sorry for myself

[Chorus]

        C G
Let her cry if the tears fall down like rain
        C Em G D
Let her sing if it eases all her pain
        C G
Let her go, let her walk right out on me
           D
And if the sun comes up tomorrow,
        C G
Let her be, ohh...

[Interlude]

(G) D C G

[Verse 4]
G D
Last night I tried to leave, cried so much I could not believe
C G
She was the same girl I fell in love with long ago
G D
She went in the back to get high; I sat down on my couch and cried, yelling
C G
"Oh Mama! Please help me. Won't you hold my hand?"

[Chorus]

        C G
Let her cry if the tears fall down like rain
        C Em G D
Let her sing if it eases all her pain
        C G
Let her go, let her walk right out on me
           D G
And if the sun comes up tomorrow, let her be

        C G
Let her cry if the tears fall down like rain
        C Em G D
Let her sing if it eases all her pain
        C G
Let her go, let her walk right out on me
           D
And if the sun comes up tomorrow,
        C G
Let her be, oh, let her be

Performance Notes:
        1. Tambourine
one hit on the 2-beat starts at line 3 and continues during
              the verses
double-time accent 3 during chorus and solo

        2. Drums:
ride shimmer between line 4 and 5
             enter at first chorus
don't play during last verse (shimmer accents only)
play ride on bell during chorus

        3. Vocal harmonies
first chorus on "if the sun comes up tomorrow"
all other choruses over "let her {cry/see/go}" and
"if the sun comes up tomorrow"

        4. Lead guitar
             arpeggiates chords during chorus
play accents over last verse (wailing emotion, feedback
             effects, etc)
             classic Marshall/Les Paul sound

        5. All
in the chorus after the solo and the last chorus, the last
two lines are played with reduced dynamics - no drums,
no strum, no tamb - just easing down

...in the chorus it should be Em G D ...If it eases all her pain... just add the G, great tab other than that

The verse should actually be G, D, Cadd9, G You can actually see him in the video using a Cadd9. Then in the chorus he uses a regular C chord like you have posted.
