[Verse 1]
     D E A G
Four months ago in April, on a day-coach she came down
        D A D
And the dusty autumn winds begin to blow
          D E A G
I shoulda known I couldn't hold her living out so far from town
        D A D
And the nights to come are long and slow to go

[Verse 2]
      D E A G
Well, now she's up and left me, went walkin' down the line
        D A D
And the dusty autumn winds begin to blow
    D E A G
All dressed up in red velvet and her high-heeled shoes so fine
        D A D
And the nights to come are long and slow to go

[Bridge]
         C G A D
Well, if I'd only known before we kissed
G C A D
You can't keep red velvet on a poor dirt farm like this
   G A D C
So now she's gone and left me, went walkin' down the line
        G D | G | G |
And the dusty autumn winds begin to blow

[Instrumental]
| G | A | D | C | G | D | G | C D |
| G | A | D | C | G | D | G | G |
| A | A | A | A |

[Verse 3]
           D E A G
Well, I'll sit and count the evening stars as they walk around
         D A D
And the dusty autumn winds begin to blow
          D E A G
Then I'll call my dog and take the truck an' I'll drive on into town
           D A D
'Cause the nights to come are long and slow to go

[Verse 4]
           D E A G
Well, I'll sit and count the evening stars as they walk around
         D A D
And the dusty autumn winds begin to blow
          D E A G
Then I'll call my dog and take the truck an' I'll drive on into town
           D A D
'Cause the nights to come are long and slow to go

[Outro]
          D C Em D
And those dusty autumn winds begin to blow

In the bridge “you can’t keep red velvet” is C——F, not C——D, otherwise good job.

For the last part of Red Velvet, "While I'll sit and count..." The chords are the same as the beginning of the song: D E A G. The end chords "And those dusty winds..." are C A D

Oh yeah, and the in bridge,"You can’t keep red velvet..." The A should be a C and forget the D7
