The Rite of Spring - Igor Stravinsky
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tabbed by: DT/ADC2000
E-mail: dyra.thorvaldsson@gmail.com

Tuning: Standard EBGDAE

Notes: No tabs exist for this piece for a reason. Much of it sound's like garbage
and can't be played because it's almost atonal. I have tabbed out a little
of the flute part because one can actually hear that. Also, if you're
looking for the Stravinsky Chord, I'm sorry to say this but you can't play
that correctly on Guitar because it's 8 notes while a guitar only has 6 strings.
However, I have included a modified version for guitar here.

The Augurs of Spring Chord is meant to be an Eb dominant 7 over an inverted E major
chord. Playing that is nearly impossible on guitar for hand positioning but if one
transposes it up by a semitone, it becomes somewhat playable. The notes it now should
have are A,C,F (twice), E, G#, B, D. That's not playable but if one omits the C (and one
of the two F's), it is easily playable.

The rest of the tab is already sharpened as well so as to match this chord.

e|0-------| = E
B|0-------| = B
G|1-------| = G#
D|0-------| = D
A|0-------| = A
E|1-------| = F

The intro is a lot of ambient atonal-esque noise, but then this melodic
flute part

e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|---------------------------------------0-----------------------------------|
A|-3--2-----2---0------------3--2-----2--------------------------------------|
E|-------3------------------------3--------3---------------------------------|

Now that augurs chord picks up. The symphony has it play 32 times very fast. It
is known for irregular accent beats, which occur on the following chords:
9, 11, 17, 20, 24, 29, 32
Also, it sounds better (but is less correct) to actually play an F on the high e
string on the accented beats. It eliminates the e, but it makes it sound more piercing

Then this flute begins to play throughout the chaos. It can be played on the high
e string to match the flute, but I believe it sounds better on the low e string,
plus then one doesn't have to move their hand as much.

e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|----0--------3--1--0----0--------3--0--------------------------------------|
E|-3-----1--3----------3-----1--3-------3------------------------------------|

Then more of the Augurs of Spring chord.
