This is my very first tab. I didn't see this up anywhere and I figured it out a while
so I figured I would go ahead and put it up :)
I play F#m like 200222, but if you don't like that, you can just
play Dmaj7 = xx0222 in it's place
Intro: just play A for 4 measures
Verse 1:
A E F#m D
I will live my life as a lobsterman's wife
A E A E
on an island in the blue bay.
A E
He will take care of me,
F#m D
he will smell like the sea,
A E A
And close to my heart he'll always stay.
A E F#m D
I will bear three girls all with strawberry curls,
A E A E
little Ella and Nelly and Faye.
A E F#m D
While I'm combing their hair, I will catch his warm stare
A E A
On our island in the blue bay.
Chorus:
E F#m A
Far away far away, I want to go far away.
A E
To a new life on a new shore line.
E F#m A
Where the water is blue and the people are new.
E D Dm A
To another island, in another life.
Verse 2:
A E F#m D
There's a boy next to me and he never will be
A E A E
anything but a boy at the bar.
A E
And I think he's the tops,
F#m D
he's where everything stops.
A E A E
How I love to love him from afar.
A E F#m D
When he walks right pass me then I finally see
A E
on this bar stool I can't stay.
A E F#m D
So I'm taking my frown to a far distant town
A E A
On an island in the blue bay.
(Chorus)
Bridge:
A
I want to go far away.
F#m E
Away away, I want to go far away, away, away
A
I want to go far away, far away.
Interlude:E, F#m, A, E, F#m (chords from 1st half of chorus)
E F#m A
Where the water is blue and the people are new.
E F#m A
To another life, to another life.
E
To another shore line
D Dm (End on A)
In another life.

i just noticed a small mistake i made....
where it says "To a new life on a new shore line." the A and the E need to be SWITCHED
E A
To a new life on a new shore line.
+1

I tried playing this and the versions with capo 1 and this sounds much better playing with the recording. Great job! Thanks!
