Dm: 000231
D7: 000210
Em: 022000
E: 022100
G: 320033

Verse 1 chords:
          Am Dm (Dsus D7)
When it's cold and you're bored
     G Em
From counting the small cars on 94
         Am Dm (Dsus D7)
When you dream you're back home
         G Em
With the lakes, I don't trust you to walk alone
       Am Dm (Dsus D7)
Hollow trees, talk of hand
        G Em
All the neckties are toasting with empty cans
        Am Dm (Dsus D7)
And you know why she's gone
         G Em
Like the clothes in the river drifting on

Chorus 1 chords:
Dm G C
Slide down south because once in awhile you're covered in sleaze
            Dm G C E
You're like smoke falls out her red brow

Interlude: [Am - Dm (Dsus - D7) - G - Em] x2

Verse 2: [use verse 1 chords]
Well she left you the hose
The tracks in the backyards, December's snow
But those sad souvenirs
They end at the fenceline and disappear
Why'd you follow her there?
The walk is a deaf ear, the winter prayers
There's no night, there's no day
With only hope in your pocket and hell to pay

Chorus 2: [use chorus 1 chords]
Slide it down south, when once in awhile you're covered in sleaze
You're like smoke falls out her red brow

Outro: [use interlude chords], end on Am

This seems basically right, however, I believe the lyric: "counting the small cars on 94" should be: "counting the smart cars on 94". It sure sounds like it to me anyway.

Yeah lyrics are way off.
"Countin' the Smart Cars on 94"
"But the lakside don't trust you to walk alone"
"Hollow trees talk off-hand"
"Once in a while your confidence leaves you like smoke falls out her red mouth."
"Well she left you the holes"
"Milwaukee's a deaf ear on winter prayers"
The E minors in verse are E majors
The C majors in the chorus are actually A minors and the E minor in the interlude is an E major.
