About this tab version
This is Israel's version of Country Roads. The John Denver Uke versions on UG are so great but haven't been put to this version of the song. This is here to mitigate the confused of looking at two different windows for chords and lyrics. Was this info helpful? Yes No
Strumming
There is no strumming pattern for this song yet. and get +5 IQ
This is Israel's version of Country Roads (without all the finger picking and other instruments).
I put this together because I had been trying to learn this with a window with lyrics and a window
with the chords-- that's confusing. Hopefully this helps someone who really likes this version of
the song but finds learning it a little frustrating!
Enjoy!

[Verse]
C Am
Almost Heaven, West Makaha,
G F C
high-ridge mountain, crystal-clear blue water.
                     Am
All my friends there hanging on da beach,
G
young and old among them,
F C
feel the ocean breeze.

[Chorus]
C G
Country road, take me home,
        Am F
to the place I belong,
     C G
West Makaha, Mount Ka'ala.
            F C
Oh, take me home, oh, country road.

[Bridge]
Am G
I heard a voice,
       C
in the morning calm, she calls me,
F C G
as though to remind me of my Home far away.
Am A#
Driving down the road,
           F C
I feel the Spirit coming to me,
      G G7
from yesterday, yesterday.

[Verse]
C Am
All my memories hold Heaven on high,
G F C
brown-skinned woman, clear blue island sky.
                  Am
Daytime sunshine, oo-ooh so bright,
G F C
midnight moon a-glowing, stars up in the sky.

[Chorus]
C G
Country road, take me home,
        Am F
to the place I belong,
     C G
West Makaha, Mount Ka'ala.
            F C
Oh, take me home, oh, country road.

[Bridge]
Am G
I heard a voice,
       C
in the morning calm, she calls me,
F C G
We driving down the road, I feel the Spirits coming to me,
    G G7
of yesterday, yesterday.

Almost Heaven, West Makaha,
G F C
high-ridge mountain, crystal-clear blue water.
                     Am
All my friends there hanging on da beach,
G
young and old among them,
F C
eating fish straight from the sea.

[Chorus] x4
C G
Country road, take me home,

Huuhuu. Huuu-tah.
     Am F
Good fo' be back.
     F G
White san', clean watah.
            F C
Hô boy, the mountain...feel the makani...

whew, what a place.
