I think it's D, Dsus, back to D really quickly, then C and G... "on the country road"... and again, D, Dsus, D, C in that classic \ \ \/ \ strum, final G strum.

Absolutely drop D

For much fuller sound and closer to the way James plays it, I'd recommend playing in Drop D which gives you that low baritone in the opening lick and throughout the song. As well, change out the G for a Bm#5 then to D. Bm#5 E ------3-------- B ------3-------- G ------4-------- D --------------- A --------------- D --------------- Drop D Let me know what you think.
