Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires released a cover of Warren Zevon's "Mutineer" on an EP called "Sea Songs".
After watching a video of them play it, I figured out how Jason plays it on his acoustic guitar.
It's different than Warren's, but still great. Capo the 2nd fret!
[Verse 1]
C F
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum
C Am
Hoist the main sails, here I come
F C
Ain't no room on board for the insincere
F G C
You're my witness, I'm your mutineer
[Verse 2]
C F
I was born to rock the boat
C Am
Some may sink but we will float
F C
Grab your coat, let's get out of here
F G C
You're my witness, I'm your mutineer
[Chorus]
G Am
Long ago we laughed at shadows
F C
Lightning flash, thunder follows
F C
They could never find us here
F G C
You're my witness, I'm your mutineer
(Amanda Shines plays a violin solo here, Jason just plays the verse without singing)
[Verse 3]
C F
I was born to rock the boat
C Am
Some may sink but we will float
F C
Grab your coat, let's get out of here
F G C
You're my witness, I'm your mutineer
[Chorus]
G Am
Long ago we laughed at shadows
F C
Lightning flash, thunder follows

Sounds great. I think the second to last line is an Am instead of a C - at least on the Letterman video I watched. Beautiful song. Thanks for posting!

Love it. I saw a video where it looks like he's got the capo on the third, but this one works perfectly for me. Thanks!
