D D/C D/B D x2

D D/C
He gets up before the dawn,
D/B G D
packs a lunch and a thermos full of coffee,
                        D/C
It's another day in the dusty haze,
     D/B G D
it's burnin rays are wearin down his body,
G G/F#
Diesel's worth the price of gold,
         Cadd9 D
it's the cheapest grain he's ever sold,
    D A
but he's still holdin on

         D A
He just takes the tractor another round,
    Em7 G D
and pulls the plow across the ground,
      A Em7 G
And sends up another prayer,
               D A
He says Lord I never complain, I never ask why,
Em7 G D
Please don't let my dreams run dry,
A Em7 G D D/C D/B D
Underneath, underneath this Amarillo Sky,

     D D/C
That hail storm back in 83'
D/B G D
sure did take a toll on his family,
	             D/C
He stayed strong and carried on,
     D/B G D
just like his dad and grand-dad did before him,
G G/F# Cadd9
On his knees every night he prays,
	                        D
please let my crops and children grow,
			      A
Cause that's all he's ever known,

         D A
He just takes the tractor another round,
    Em7 G D
and pulls the plow across the ground,
      A Em7 G
And sends up another prayer,
               D A
He says Lord I never complain, I never ask why,
Em7 G D
Please don't let my dreams run dry,
A Em7 G D A Em7 G
Underneath, underneath this Amarillo Sk---y---y---y

D A Em7 G

       D A
And he takes the tractor another round,
Em7 G
another round, another round,
       D A
And he takes the tractor another round,
Em7 G
another round

          D A
He says I never complain, I never ask why,
Em7 G D
Please don't let my dreams run dry,
A Em7 G D A Em7 G
Underneath, underneath this Amarillo Sk---y---y---y
D A Em7 G D D/C D/B D
        underneath this Amarillo Sky

D D/C D/B D

There's a chord missing in the verse.
The D chord with the descending bass note needs another half step drop in the bass.
