LET ME BE ME - Jessica Mauboy
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

July 18th 2010

Tabbed by: Wayne S
Tuning: Standard EADGBE

Capo: 3

Am: 022000 or 022033 or 02203x
F: 032010 or x32033 or x3203x
C: 320033
G: x00232 or 200233

Listening to the beginning of the song carefully, the instrument in the background
seems to be playing this. The capital letters represent when the guitar-picking
starts (ie. pick the 2 on the A string when "GROWN" is sung)

    Am F C G

e|------|------|------|------|
B|----3-|----3-|----3-|----3-|
G|---0--|---0--|---0--|---2--|
D|--2---|--2---|--0---|--0---|
A|-2----|-3----|------|------|
E|------|------|-3----|-2----|

Am - "i'm a Grown up..."
F - "it's been Like this.."
C - "you're Questioning.."
G - "and Answering.."

From what I can hear, it actually seems like Em is picked through to "you're
questioning" - then C is played, but it just doesn't sound right when playing it
totally acoustic. But if you to play it with the song itself, that's what it
sounds like. For the purposes of these tabs, I think it sounds better utilising
all 4 chords.

Either strum, or finger-pick. In the first verse, each chord is picked twice
before changing (utilising the previously mentioned 4 chords).

Verse 1 and verse 2 are slightly different in that I've actually tabbed verse 1
with a less frequent switching of chords and verse 2 with more frequent. You can
really play it either way (similar to how I put 2 versions of the Pre-Chorus and the Chorus).

Remember, mix/mash it up as much as you like.

Please leave any comments/ratings/corrections/suggestions.

[Verse 1]:

      Am
I'm a grown up woman but a girl again
          F
It's been like this since I can remember when
       C G
You're questioning and answering
              Am
You're always talking to me like I can't relate
           F
When all I want to do is to communicate
         C G
You were meant to be someone else

[Pre-Chorus (less frequent change - suited to picking)]:

             Am
I look at the pictures of me and you we're smiling
F
Tell me what happened to the times when
C
  We understood each other
G
  Yeah

[Pre-Chorus (more frequent change - suited to strumming)]:

             Am F
I look at the pictures of me and you we're smiling
C G
Tell me what happened to the times when
Am F C
   We understood each other
G
  Yeah

[Chorus (less frequent change - suited to picking)]:

Am F
All I need is a little bit of space to breathe
                   C G
And a little bit of freedom to be who I want to be
G
Let me be me
Am F
Love means learning to let me go and spread my wings
                   C G
You let me grow and live life you gotta let me be
G
Let me be me

[Chorus (more frequent change - suited to strumming)]:

Am F C G
All I need is a little bit of space to breathe
                   Am F C
And a little bit of freedom to be who I want to be
G
Let me be me
Am F C G
Love means learning to let me go and spread my wings
                   Am F C
You let me grow and live life you gotta let me be
G
Let me be me

[Verse 2]:

           Am F
You try to teach me lessons not to suffocate
       C G
Always setting goals that I don't wanna make
        Am F C G
And I'm tired of it, sick and tired of it
       Am F
And it feels just like we're on a one way street
C G Am F C G
It's only half where we gotta meet, ohh we gotta make it back

[Repeat Chorus]

Am F
Let me be, let me be
C G
Let me be, let me be
Am F C G
Let me be, let me be

[Repeat Pre-Chorus]

[Repeat Chorus] x2

Am F
Let me be, let me be
C G
Let me be, let me be
Am F C G
Let me be, let me be

Am F
Let me be, let me be
C G
Let me be, let me be
Am F C G
Let me be, let me be
