Intro: this is the key to getting the song sounding right you must pick the lowest
note of each chord on every change. (and some chords in the verses as well.)

[Verse 1]
Em G Am Am/C Am Am G Em
   In days of peace,
Em G Am Am/C Am Am G Em
   Sweet smell- ing summer nights
Em G Am Am/C Am Am G Em
   Of wine and song.
Em G Am Am/C Am Am G Em
   Dusty pave- ment, burning feet.

Em G Am Am/C Am Am G Em
Why am I cry- ing? I want to know.
Em G Am Am/C Am Am G Em
How can I smile and make it right
Em G Am Am/C Am Am G Em
For sixty days and eighty nights,
Em G Am Am/C Am Am G Em
And not give in and lose the fight?

G A D
I'm going back to the ones that I know
     G C B
With whom I can be what I want to be.
G A D
Just one week for the feeling to go,
         G A D Em
And with you there to help me then it probably will.

   I- won't go down
Em G Am Am/C Am Am G Em
Ac- ting the same old play.
Em G Am Am/C Am Am G Em
Gave sixty days for just one night.
Em G Am Am/C Am Am G Em
Don't think I'd make it, but I'd bet I- might.

The B toward the end of the tag should be a Bm7. I think the C# in the pre-chorus is really an A. And I'm not convinced they play the A or B as the 2nd to the last chord in the pre-chorus - it sounds like they sneak in the note but they're going directly to the D and E chords.

Pretty sure that the chord after the Am and before returning to Em at the end of each verse is a Dsus2, not a G. Listen to the studio song again and see if that's not correct.
