This confuses me, I’ve watched him play this on several different videos. These are not the chords he is playing. What am I missing?

Anybody advise what the picking pattern for this in E would be? Looks deceptively simple on the video, but obviously too subtle for me lol

played it with capo on 2nd fret with these chords and it seems to work.
