Covered in Rain (City Love outro)
transcribed by Alan Myers

Drop D tuning

Part A: whole song (intro, verse, chorus)

These days with the world getting colder
She spends more time sleeping over
Than I planned

Tonight were gonna order in
Drinking wine and watching CNN
It's dark I know but then again
It's the brightest thing I got

Cause I'm covered in rain
No I'm covered in rain

Fire woods to fire places
Summer stolen, fallen places
People watching, all the people watching, everybody watching me
Standing by the missing signs at the CVS by the checkout line
She puts her quiet hands in mine
Cause she's the brightest thing I got

When you're covered in rain
Cause I'm covered in rain
Cause I'm covered in rain
No I'm covered in rain

It's alright
If you dont want to go on
It's alright
If you dont want to be alone
It's alright
If you dont want to go home

I understand
I understand
I understand
You and me and everyone, covered in rain

just so you know. John Mayer plays standard. not drop D. see dvd for proof. and plus hes a blues influenced guitarist so standard it usually must be.

No he is right, he plays CIty Love in dropped D tuning too, and this song is a sequel to it, and being a sequel, they are usually played in sequence with eachother, hence the same tuning. john also tunes to Dropped D for Your Body is a Wonderland and he uses a funky tuning for Somethings Missing.

root note of the first chord is a d#, you cant get a d# of that octave in standard tuning
