Am C
An old cowboy went ridin' in one dark and windy day.
Am
Upon a ridge he rested as he went along his way.
When all at once a mighty herd of red-eyed cows he saw,
F Dm Am
Plowin' through the ragged skies and up a cloudy draw.
Am C
Their brands were still on fire and their hooves were made of steel.
Am
Their hornes were black and shiny and their hot breath he could feel.
A bolt of fear went through him as they thundered through the sky,
F Dm Am
For he saw the riders comin' hard, and he heard their mournful cry.
Am C Am
Yippie-yi-yo, yippie-yi-yay.
F Dm Am
Ghost riders in the sky.

I think you're missing a couple of chords in the verse: The way you have it, it goes Am ->C ->Am and then you're staying on Am for the rest of the next two lines. I think you forgot a C in the second line.
so It should be more like this:
Am C
An old cowboy went ridin' in one dark and windy day.
Am C
Upon a ridge he rested as he went along his way.
Am
When all at once a mighty herd of red-eyed cows he saw,
F Dm Am
Plowin' through the ragged skies and up a cloudy draw.
I also think that Dm is more implied than fully fretted, basically like a ghost note type thing leading into the Am. Not sure on that one.
Otherwise, nice job, thanks!

i think there's a few extra hits of a note like when there is 5 d2 when it sounds best with 3 d2 1 d0 but other wise it is the most in-depth on here so good job

Great tabs and helpful comments. I also agree that adding the C chord makes sense. There really is no single correct way of playing this. Every artist who has covered it does it slightly differently. It's that kind of song...
