Josh Garrels-Rise-Begginning
This is just the begginning of the song and the chorus.
You can go and learn the rest of the
song if you want to. Basic chords.
Came up with these chords because there are'nt enough chords
for such a great artist.
God Bless
Enjoy
Basic chords: Em,Am,C,D
Cappo: 3rd fret
Verse:
Em Am
I hung my head, for the last time
C D
in surrender, and dispare...
Em Am
But, before I'm dead I'll take the last clime,
C D
up the mountain; face my fears
Em Am
The time has come, to make a choice
C D
Use my voice, for the love of every man
Em Am
My mind's made up, never again...
C D
Never again, will I come down...
Chorus:
Em C
Though they may surround me like lions
Em Am
and crush me on all sides,
C D C
I may fall, but I will rise
Em C
Not by my might, nor by power
D C
nor by the strength of swords,
Am D Em
Only through, Your love my lord
Am D Em
All that's lost, will be restored
BTW, on the last line of the chorus, strum the chords once each, then continue struming
the Em and Am chords.

I think this is an excellent start to a simplified version to this song. I think, however, some of your chords are off a bit. I would like to make the following suggestions:
VERSES:
Substitute an A in place of all the spots where you've indicated Am.
CHORUS:
C D
Em A
C D A
C D
Em A
C D A
C D Em
The actual song is in Bm, so the chords are Bm, E, G, A. But, for someone who feels intimidated by the Bm chord, this is definitely a happy compromise! Thanks so much for sharing!

This helped me come up with better sounding chords. Thanks! Here's my version:
Verses:
Em C Am D
Em C Am D
Em Bm C D Em
Em Bm C D (may use Dsus2 instead of D here at the end of the verse)
Chorus:
C D Em D (or Dsus2 instead of D at end)
C D A
C D Em D (or Dsus2 instead of D at end)
C D A
C D Em
