The E*-thing means that you should put a finger on the 4th fret of the high e-string
while playing a normal E (don't know if that is an actual chord)

Am Am G
Stand in line as we march to the drums of the east,
Am
Paralyzed and possessed by crusaders deceased,
Am G Am
Lost in the silence, the call from the turbulent times.
Am B C D
  E E*
Bound by the science that lives on… that lives on the wise.

chorus:
F G A
The beating of a million drums.
F G A
The fire of a million guns.
F G A G
The mother of a million sons.
D
Civilization!

x2

Am Am
Lost in the silence, they bow to the call of the east.
G Am G Am
Tantalized and seduced by the demons released.
Am G
Ears to the ground by the name of the merciless sky.
Am B C D
E E*
Onto the fire that burns in the all seeing eye.

CHORUS x2

Bridge:
Am G
The beating of a million drums.
Am G
The fire of a million guns.
Am B C D E
The mother of a million sons.
E*

The E is a normal major chord. 4 frets up on the high E is G#, which is one of the three tones an E major chord. Hence, you can simply write E.

If perhaps you meant the 5th fret instead, it would instead be an A, which is E's perfect fourth, and make it either an added fourth or an suspended fourth depending respectively on whether its major third (the aforementioned G#) is or is not present.
